Do you want to become commissioned as a Notary Public for the State of Texas? Or need to renew a commission expiring within 90 days?

The Texas Secretary of State requires you to obtain a bond, pay the state filing fee, and purchase the required supplies (a notary stamp and a record book). Notary Errors and Omission Insurance to protect yourself is optional. All are available through River City Bonding.

Getting started is as easy as 1-2-3

  1. Download the application as a PDF or Word document

  2. Choose your level of service:
Processing only: Notary Bond and State Filing Fee ($71)
Stamp Plan (for renewing notary publics only): Notary Bond, State Filing Fee, and Stamp  ($94.50 + tax = $95.56)
Package Plan: Notary Bond, State Filing Fee, Notary Stamp, and Notary Record Book ($102.50 + tax = $104.06)

Economy shipping (12-15 business days) is included. For Standard shipping (7-10 business days) add $3.50; For Express shipping (4-7 business days) add $8.50.

  3. Submit your completed application (with an actual signature) and payment to River City Bonding using one of the following options:
    • Option 1: Email the application to cbristow@rivercitybonding.com and request an invoice for the level of service you desire. Invoices may be paid online with a checking account or credit/debit card. Instructions for online payments will be e-mailed with the invoice.

Option 2:  Mail the application and a check for the total amount, payable to River City Bonding, to our accounting department at 8706 Golden Point, Windcrest, TX 78239.

Upon approval by the Secretary of State, your commission certificate will arrive by e-mail within 2-3 weeks. (Processing times vary.) If you purchase a Stamp or Package plan, further instructions will be provided by River City Bonding for you to obtain your supplies.
